In Shakespeare's plays, characters often speak in iambic pentameter. This meter consists of iambic feet per line. An iamb is defined as a metrical foot consisting of one unstressed syllable followed by one stressed syllable ( syllables per foot). Using the formula where is the number of feet () and is the number of syllables per foot (), calculate the total number of syllables in a standard line of iambic pentameter.
